Odyssey Manor, New York, NY

The sister building to Harlem’s Odyssey House, Odyssey Manor was designed as a substance abuse rehabilitation center for mothers, and provides housing for 332 mothers and their children while the mothers are in the program. The facility contains on-site services for the residents during the 8- to 12-month period these residents live at the center, helping them to develop new life skills and habits. Odyssey Manor contains; residential apartments, day-care facilities, classrooms, a group therapy room, vocational training areas, a medical clinic, dining and kitchen facilities, administrative areas, recreational lounges, an outdoor playground, gardens and recreational areas.  The building’s positive impact has resulted in a revived sense of neighborhood and sense of purpose for both the residents & the treatment counselors that live & work here.
