The Firm
Werfel & Associates was founded by architect Laurence M. Werfel in 1961, in Queens, New York. In 2001, Matthew Lo Pinto joined the firm as a junior architect, and in December 2011, he was named as partner, forming what is now Werfel, Lo Pinto & Associates, Architects, P.C.
Our extensive portfolio includes more than 1,000 projects, ranging from $25,000 to $100 million in construction costs. Our work can be found in multiple states and other countries. In addition to ground-up projects, we are also experienced in renovations, modernizations, expansions, and retrofitting. We have significant experience in re-roofing, window replacement, facade repair and restoration, elevator renovation, kitchen renovation, door replacement, and ADA compliance. Our work includes:

We are a small firm, which means that we are light, agile, and adaptable. Given our years of experience, we have built lasting and productive relationships with highly skilled, efficient, and respected engineers and special consultants. We are able to provide flexibility in design services, immediate attention to the services required, and, having worked extensively with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), we are knowledgeable regarding DASNY procedures. We are well-versed in the submission timetable requirements for state and city government-funded projects, providing feasibility reports to assist in decision-making regarding new projects. We understand how crucial it is to prepare comprehensive and complete construction documents to ensure that our projects come in on or before schedule and within or under budget.
