Damian Family Health Center, Wards Island, NY

Damian Family Medical Centers is a nonprofit that places medical facilities in existing residential treatment facilities and in neighborhoods that are in need of medical clinics. On Wards Island, we created a combination medical and dental clinic within an existing residential treatment facility. We faced some challenges that required creative solutions. It was necessary for the building to keep the same footprint. In addition, because retrenching was cost-prohibitive, all the existing plumbing had to remain in place. Despite these issues, we were able to complete this project within budget and on time.
